At Celtic Financial Planning, we talk a lot about planning for the future. But sometimes, it’s the things we do today that make the biggest difference.
Recently, our very own Jamie Hughes laced up his trainers, took on the Nova Half Marathon, and crossed the finish line having completed 13.1 miles, all in support of Hope House Children’s Hospices.
And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he also smashed his fundraising target along the way.
A Goal Worth Running For
Jamie set himself a target of raising £1,000 for Hope House. Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, colleagues, and clients, he’s now raised over £1,040, and counting.
For anyone who’s ever run a half marathon, you’ll know it’s no small undertaking. Months of training, early morning runs, sore legs, and plenty of determination go into preparing for race day.
But Jamie wasn’t just running for a personal best. He was running for a cause that means a great deal to him, and to all of us here at Celtic Financial Planning.
Why Hope House Matters
Hope House Children’s Hospices provides care and support to seriously ill children and their families across North and Mid Wales, Shropshire, and Cheshire.
They offer everything from respite care and specialist nursing to emotional support and end-of-life care, not just for the children, but for their whole families.
It’s the kind of work that doesn’t make headlines every day, but it changes lives. For families going through the most difficult of times, Hope House is a lifeline.
As a local charity, they rely heavily on fundraising and donations to keep providing their vital services. Every pound raised makes a real difference.
That’s why Jamie chose to run for them – and why we’re so proud to support him.
More Than Just a Workplace
We believe that being part of a community means more than just working here.
It means showing up. Getting involved. Supporting the causes and people that matter.
Whether it’s sponsoring local events, supporting charities, or cheering on a colleague as they take on a half marathon, we try to play our part.
Jamie’s run is a perfect example of that. He saw an opportunity to do something positive, set himself a challenge, and brought everyone along with him.
And the response has been brilliant. Over £1,040 raised for a charity that does incredible work, right here in our community.
Congratulations, Jamie!
We just want to say a massive well done to Jamie.
Running 13.1 miles takes grit, dedication, and more than a few early mornings. Doing it for such an important cause makes it all the more meaningful.
The whole team at Celtic Financial Planning is incredibly proud of you.
And to everyone who donated, shared Jamie’s fundraising page, or sent words of encouragement – thank you. You helped make this happen.
