At Celtic Financial Planning, we believe in doing well by doing good. That’s why we were thrilled to host our annual Celtic Charity Ball at St David’s Hotel, Ewloe — an evening that brought together more than 180 guests, raised £8,000 for two incredible charities, and reinforced our commitment to being a carbon positive business.

A Night to Remember

The evening was nothing short of spectacular. Hosted by former Wales scrum half Rupert Moon, guests were treated to inspiring talks from Welsh rugby legends Shane Williams MBE and Nigel Owens MBE. Between the charity auctions, raffles, and the incredible generosity of everyone in attendance, we reached our fundraising target to support Alder Hey Children’s Charity and North East Wales Mind.

Supporting Causes Close to Our Hearts

Alder Hey Children’s Charity

Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Healthcare Campus in Liverpool cares for nearly 500,000 seriously ill children and young people every year. The funds raised will help support the vital work they do for young patients and their families.

Sarah Johnson, Community Fundraiser at Alder Hey Children’s Charity, said:

“We were delighted at Alder Hey Children’s Charity to be supported by the recent Celtic Financial Planning charity ball. It was a wonderful evening and raised vital funds to support the 450,000 children who visit Alder Hey every year, and their families. We would like to thank the team at Celtic Financial Planning for all of their hard work, and everyone who came to the event for their kind words and generosity.”

North East Wales Mind

North East Wales Mind provides dedicated mental health support for residents in Flintshire and Wrexham, promoting wellbeing and fostering community resilience. Their work is invaluable in helping individuals struggling with poor mental health.

Natasha Wait, Business Development and Income Generation Manager at North East Wales Mind, said:

“We are deeply grateful to Celtic Financial Planning for their incredible generosity. The £8,000 raised through their ball, shared between North East Wales Mind and Alder Hey, will have a profound impact. This vital funding allows us to deliver essential mental health services across Flintshire and Wrexham, reaching those who need it most. Additionally, the support for mental health in the workplace is fostering a healthier, more understanding environment for countless individuals. Together, we are creating lasting change and improving lives in our community.”

Our Commitment to the Environment

Giving back to our community is only part of our mission. We’re equally committed to protecting the planet. That’s why we purchased three tonnes of carbon credits to offset more than the total CO2 emissions produced by the event, making it not just carbon neutral, but carbon positive.

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us; it’s woven into how we operate as a business every day.

Building on Success

This year’s event builds on the success of our 2024 Celtic Charity Ball, which raised £5,000 for Hope House. Each year, we’re inspired to do more, give more, and bring our community together for causes that truly matter.

Thank You

Our founder, Rob Lewis, summed up the evening perfectly:

“It was an amazing night with amazing people, and we couldn’t have asked for a better result. The proceeds raised will make a huge difference in helping both charities continue their vital work providing care for children and young people and those struggling with poor mental health respectively. This achievement has been made possible thanks to the generosity and goodwill of all our guests, speakers, and sponsors, so I’m thankful for everyone who donated, attended, and raised awareness of the event.”

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, and helped spread the word. You made this night possible, and together, we’re making a real difference in our community.

Here’s to continuing to support the causes and people that matter most.
