Savings & Investments

Whether you are investing a significant lump sum or building wealth over time, we provide clear, structured financial planning to help you grow, manage and protect your assets in line with your long term goals

Modern | Dynamic | Honest

Our investment approach is disciplined, structured and built around your long term goals. Our Investment Committee is responsible for the ongoing review, monitoring and analysis of investment markets and strategies, ensuring your portfolio remains aligned, robust and positioned for the future.

As independent financial advisers, we are not restricted to any provider or product range. This gives you access to a broad range of solutions across the whole of the market, allowing us to build a well diversified and hard working investment strategy tailored to your wider financial plan. We ensure your investments are structured efficiently, making full use of appropriate tax wrappers such as ISAs, pensions and investment bonds where suitable. By bringing everything together into a clear and coordinated approach, we help you grow, manage and protect your wealth with confidence over the long term.

Lovely, friendly people, who very patiently explain the ins and outs of our investments and check that we have understood. Feel comfortable and confident that Celtic Financial Planning are acting in our best interests.

Ethical and sustainable investment strategies

By understanding your financial goals, investment time horizon and overall circumstances, we assess the level of investment risk that is appropriate for you, along with any preferences you may have around ethical or responsible investing. Where you have existing arrangements in place, we review these carefully to ensure they remain suitable and aligned with your current objectives.

To support this process, we gather detailed information on your existing plans directly from providers on your behalf. This allows us to build a complete and accurate picture of your finances before carrying out our research and making any recommendations.

The value of investments can go down as well as up and you may receive back less than you originally invested.

Investing Regularly

We often encourage clients to invest on a regular basis, building wealth gradually rather than relying on timing the market.

By investing consistently, you naturally spread the cost of your investments over time, reducing the impact of short term market fluctuations. This disciplined approach can be particularly valuable during periods of uncertainty, helping you stay invested and focused on long term outcomes.

If you are looking to start building your investments in a structured and manageable way, we can help you put a plan in place that works for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we offer an initial meeting at no cost, giving you the opportunity to discuss your financial position, investment goals and what you are looking to achieve.

This first conversation is designed to understand whether we are the right fit to work together. We will explain how we approach financial planning and the areas we can support with, allowing you to make an informed decision without any obligation.

Investing a lump sum requires careful planning to ensure it is aligned with your goals, time horizon and attitude to risk. Rather than focusing on short term market movements, we help you build a structured investment strategy designed for long term growth.

This may include spreading investments over time, using tax efficient wrappers such as ISAs and pensions, and ensuring your portfolio is well diversified. The right approach depends on your individual circumstances, which is why tailored financial planning is key.

Building wealth typically comes down to consistency, discipline and having a clear plan. Regular investing, combined with a well structured portfolio and ongoing reviews, can help you grow your assets over time.

We focus on creating long term strategies that make full use of tax allowances, manage risk appropriately and adapt as your circumstances change, helping you stay on track towards your financial goals.

ISAs and other investment wrappers can offer valuable tax advantages, helping to reduce income tax, capital gains tax and, in some cases, inheritance tax.

We help ensure your investments are structured efficiently, making full use of available allowances and selecting the most appropriate wrappers based on your wider financial plan. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in the future.

Tax planning is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. While we consider tax efficiency as part of your overall financial planning, we do not provide specialist tax advice. Where appropriate, we recommend you seek guidance from a suitably qualified professional, such as a Chartered Accountant or tax specialist.

Cash is right for money you’ll need within the next five years and for your emergency fund — but over longer periods, cash savings have historically struggled to keep pace with inflation, meaning your money slowly loses buying power. Investing gives your money the potential to grow ahead of inflation, in exchange for accepting ups and downs along the way.

The right balance depends on your timeframe, your goals and how you feel about risk. As a rule of thumb, we’d suggest holding three to six months of expenses in accessible cash before investing, and only investing money you can leave untouched for five years or more. With savings rates now below their most recent peak, many people are reviewing whether the cash they built up in recent years is still working hard enough. Remember that investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in. If you’re unsure where the line should sit for you, this is exactly what a financial plan works out — book a free initial meeting and we’ll help you decide.
